Micro Mini 3in1 Deluxe Kick Scooter is one of the best scooters that grow with your child. It is best suited for kids from age 1 to age 5.
This scooter starts off as a ride-on scooter, and it transforms as your kid grows. Micro Mini comes withtwo handlebars, there’s O-Bar with the lower seat attachment, and a classic T-Bar handle. These handlebars are used for three different stages.
The first stage is meant for young kids who never before had a chance to ride a scooter. In the first stage, kids are meant to use the O-Bar with the seat attached to it. The seat can be adjusted to two different height positions for more comfortable use. In this first stage, children can learn how to move without the help of their parents.
The second stage is meant for kids that feel more stable on their feet. You just have to remove the seat, and your kid is left with a low, O-Bar handled scooter. O-Bar is very useful for little kids, as they can grip it much easier than classic T-Bar handle.
The third stage is perfect for kids who already mastered scooting with O-Bar and now they want to try out with the classic T-Bar handle.
Because Micro Mini Scooter comes with two handlebars, it offers two different heights – O-Bar is 17 inches long, and the T-Bar is 24inches long. Ideal handlebar height should come to the waist height of your kid.
Micro Mini 3in1 Deluxe Kick Scooter features a three-wheel design with two big wheels in the front and one smaller wheel in the rear. The wheels are made of polyurethane which ensures a smooth ride. And this scooter utilizes lean-to-turn steering, making it easy for kids to go where they want to.
Micro Mini Deluxe Scooter is an amazing product, and a great way for kids to develop their sense of balance, coordination, and motor skills. It suited for those as young as one year old, and it grows with them until they’re 5 years old.
The only complaint parents had was about it being too lightweight. Weighing at only 4.4 pounds, some kids can easily tip it over during their learning process.
If you’re looking for something that your kid can use for a long time, GlobberEvo 3 Wheel 5in1 Convertible Scooter is the best scooter you can get.
GlobberEvo starts off as a ride-on that you have to push. It features a seat with handlebars that offers maximum weight capacity of 44 lbs. The T-Bar is meant to go on the back of the seat, and with it, you can do the pushing. This first stage is recommended for kids between the age 1 and age 3.
In the second stage, the T-Bar handlebar comes off, and the GlobberEvo becomes a ride-on bike that your child can push around independently. This is the stage where your kid develops their motor skills and learns how to move around without the help of a parent.
At around the age of two, when your kid has learned the basics of a ride-on bike, you can transform the bike into a scooter by removing the seat and installing the T-bar handlebar you used in the first stage. For a beginner, there is a secure direction lock button that allows you to lock the steering until your kid learns how to balance on a scooter. This means that your little one will be able to go only straight, and they won’t have to worry about the steering.
When your toddler becomes completely stable on the scooter, you can unlock the steering and let them try it out. GlobberEvo utilizes lean to turn steering which might be difficult at first, but after a couple of rides, your kid will learn how to move.
As you can see, GlobberEvo is a great way for your child to learn how to scoot around step by step.
GlobberEvo is made out of high quality materials. The three wheels are made of high-rebound polyurethane, and they will ensure a smooth and safe ride even on rough terrain. There is a long brake on the rear wheel that lets your kid control the speed of the scooter.
The steel reinforced low deck provides stability and weight capacity up to 110 lbs. The deck also features X-Cross design which improves the ease of steering.
The adjustable handlebars have a range from 26.5 inches high to 31 inches high, meaning that this scooter can grow with your child. There are also featured dual-injection grips that ensure comfortable ride without blisters.
Overall GlobberEvo 3 Wheel is an amazing scooter with a lot of great features. Last year GlobberEvo won the award “Toy of the Year” which says a lot. With this product you get two rides for your toddler. And it doesn’t stop there, the adjustable handlebar grows with your kid.
As for the complaints, there were almost none. A few users had some problems with the conversion process, and that would be all. The kids and the parents alike love GlobberEvo 3 Wheel 5in1 Convertible Scooter with LED Wheels.
Micro Mini Original Kick Scooter is the best scooter you can find. This is an award winning scooter, praised by both parents and kids alike. And it has almost 2000 positive reviews on Amazon.com.
This is a perfect scooter for kids who never had any experience. Micro Mini Original is a three-wheel scooter, with two large front wheels and one smaller rear wheel. The wheels are wide and made of polyurethane. This ensures better grip and smooth ride. You shouldn’t have to worry if during the ride you stumble upon a rough terrain due to these wheels your kid won’t experience high impact as he would if the wheels were made of plastic.
The deck of the scooter is reinforced with a fiberglass, which helps with the impact absorption. The deck is very stable because it is wide and low to the ground. It is wide enough for both feet if your kid decides to cruise around. If your kid loves going fast, there is a brake on the rear wheel. It is very efficient and easy to use. Your child will be in complete control of the speed, slowing down and stopping overall.
Micro Mini Original features classic T-Bar handlebar, which is not adjustable, unfortunately. The height of the handlebar is 24 inches. This scooter utilizes lean to turn steering method, and most kids love it as they feel like they’re cruising on a skateboard. Some kids did have difficulties learning to steer, but eventually, after a couple of rides they mastered the steering and were on their way.
What makes this scooter even better is its lightweight design. This is a very well-constructed scooter. It’s made to last, it can hold up after many bumps and falls but it is extremely lightweight. It’s easily maneuverable and easy to handle, which is one of the most important things when it comes to scooters for kids. Also, the handlebar is foldable, meaning that this scooter takes up small space. If you’re planning a trip, you can easily store it in your car.
This is without the doubt one of the best scooters on the market, if not the best. Kids love it, parents love it, and there are many online reviews that will confirm that. Micro Mini is a great way to introduce your two year old to scooting. This scooter will help your kid develop their sense of balance and coordination while having fun and being active.
There were almost no complaints about this product. The only drawback would be the lack of adjustable height handlebar, but that shouldn’t be the deal breaker. This scooter will last you for a long time, as it is best suited for kids between the ages 2 to 5 years old.
LaScoota 2-in-1 is a great choice for parents on a budget. This scooter is not something your kids will only use a couple of years; it will grow with them.
If you want your child to have fun and be safe while developing their motor skills, sense of balance and coordination, this scooter is the way to go.
It is built to last and endure years of use and abuse of children. LaScoota is made out of aluminum alloy and durable stainless steel parts.
When it comes to scooters, one thing that kids love the most is simple cruising, but that’s not easy with some models. Luckily, LaScoota features an extra wide deck that provides enough space to fit both feet which enables your kids to cruise with ease. The extra wide deck is also low to the ground, making it very stable.
Another thing that adds more stability is the three-wheel design. There are two big wheels in front and one smaller rear wheel that features reliable and durable stainless steel ABS brakes. The wheels are polyurethane, which means that they will ensure a smooth and safe ride even on bumpy roads. Also, wheels light up while moving! And we all know how kids adore light up wheels, so there is no question about whether your kid will love or hate LaScoota 2-in-1 Kick Scooter.
With lean-to-steer technology, your little one will quickly learn how to turn left or right by just leaning in the direction they want to go. This type of turning technology also helps with improving their sense of balance and coordination, so it’s a win-win situation. If you’re worried about your kid getting blisters, scrap that from your mind because LaScoota features extremely soft handlebar grips.
The best thing about this scooter is its ability to grow with your kid. LaScoota starts out as a ride-on toy with removable seat, which can be positioned at two different heights. As your child becomes more confident, you can easily remove the seat and give them a seemingly new toy – a scooter! The handlebar can be adjusted to four heights to accommodate your growing child.
This foldable scooter is easy to assemble, safe, stable, and fun for kids of all ages. However, there is one flaw to it; the seat doesn’t support much weight. But other than that, everything else is amazing!

This is the second product on our list that comes from Radio Flyer, a company that has been around for over a century. Radio Flyer is still to this day a family company based in Chicago, and their main desire is to continue creating high-quality products that will bring fun and joy to your home.
Ride 2 Glide Ride On grows with your child from 1 to 4 years old. This little scooter converts from a ride on toy to three-wheeled scooter in just two minutes. With Ride 2 Glide you can allow your child to develop their sense of balance by having fun and scooting on their new ride on toy. And after they grow a little and build some confidence, a ride on toy can become a scooter by simply raising the handlebar and moving the seat to the front without the use of tools.
However, you’re going to need tools to assemble the Ride 2 Glide. You’re going to need a hammer, screwdriver, and a wrench. The assembly won’t take much of your time; you’re going to need at most about half an hour to complete the construction. Also, assembly instructions are illustrated and easy to follow.
The scooter itself is durable, sturdy, and safe. The base of the scooter is low to the ground and extra wide, meaning that it’s almost impossible to be tipped sideways. Ride 2 Glide features a turn-to-steer design with limited turning radius which eliminates sudden lurches.
Radio Flyer Ride 2 Glide Ride On is perfect for beginners, it offers stability and safety (both as a ride on toy and as a scooter.) The scooter is very well made; the high-quality plastic build can withstand long-term use and abuse of more than just one child. Another great thing about this scooter is the fact that it can be used both indoors and outdoors, but for outdoor use, it’s always recommended for a child to use additional safety equipment such as pads and helmet. Radio Flyer added a really nice touch which is a deep storage basket for toys, sippy cups, or anything your child wants to have at all times.
If you’re on a budget and looking for a scooter for your little one, you should go with Radio Flyer My 1st Scooter.
Radio Flyer My 1st Scooter is a fun way for your child to develop their sense of balance and coordination. It is best suited for kids from 2 to 4 year old.
My 1st Scooter features three wheels, two front wheels, and one rear wheel. The wheels are made out of rubberized plastic which is durable enough to go both over carpet for the indoor ride, and over the sidewalk for the outdoor ride. Steering is comfortable due to the ergonomic grip handles, and turn-to-steer design. You can rest assured that your kid won’t end up with blisters no matter how hard they grip the handles. Also, Radio Flyer has a limited turning radius which provides more safety.
The deck of this scooter is extra wide, and it has tapered design. This design offers maximum stability for your kid, and easy scooting without catching their feet. The rear wheel is covered with a fender that also serves as a brake.
The brake at first won’t get used that muchbecause your kid is just learning how to move around. But as your child gets more confident and stable on the scooter, he will start scooting faster, and the brake will let him control the speed of the scooter.
Unfortunately, My 1st Scooter is not a scooter that will grow with your kid because the height of the scooter is not adjustable. The Radio Flyer is 24 inches high, and the maximum weight capacity is 50 pounds. Have in mind that kids that are over four years old or taller kids in general, would feel unstable and uncomfortable on a scooter with a lower handlebar, but slightly higher handlebar won’t be a problem.
Assembling Radio Flyer My 1st Scooter is easy, and done in short time because manufacturer provides you with the detailed instructions.
My 1st Scooter is a durable scooter that’s perfect for novices, as it features a three-wheel design with the extra wide base that provides stability for your child. The ergonomic handles and limited turning radius ensure safe to use without sudden zigzagging that would result in a fall. And the brake on the rear wheel will allow your kid to control the speed of the scooter.
There are a few disadvantages to this scooter. This is a bit bulkier scooter, and that would not present a problem if it were foldable, but it is not. This means that it will take up some space if you decide to go on a trip and bring it with you. The other most common complaint parents had about this scooter was the limited mobility. The parents say that the steering is very hard for their kids, so they end up going only straightforward.
If you’re looking for something affordable that will stand throughout the time, Globber Primo 3 Wheel Adjustable Height Scooter is one of the best choices you can make.
As the name says, Globber Primo has a three-wheel design with two big front wheels and one smaller rear wheel. This setup gives more stability to your child and ensures a safe ride. The smooth ride is guaranteed due to the high rebound PU wheels with ABEC 5 bearings. This means that you don’t have to worry about the bumps and cracks on the road. Also, the rear wheel is covered with a long brake that allows your kid to stop or slow down efficiently.
The deck of this scooter is made of durable, hard plastic material, and it is reinforced with a steel plate. Because of this, Globber Primo has 110 lbs. maximum weight capacity, which is almost two times more than other scooters in this category. The deck has an X-cross design with anti-slip texture, meaning that your kid won’t slip off the scooter that easy.
The adjustable handlebars can grow with your child. With 3-position latch system you can adjust the handlebars from 26.5 inches to 31 inches tall. Handlebars are made out of aluminum, but they have a matte or chrome finish which only adds to its beautiful look. Handlebar features comfortable dual-injection grips which are great for impact absorption.
Globber Primo 3 Wheel Adjustable Height Scooter is suited for kids between two and six years old. Even those youngest can easily learn the magic of scooting. You can lock the steering with secure direction button, and with it locked your kid can learn how to balance on a scooter without worrying about steering. After your kid masters the balance and coordination, they can head on and learn how to turn. Globber utilizes lean to turn steering.
Assembling Globber Primo is simple and easy, and you won’t need any tools in order to put it together. The T-Bar handlebar is easily removed from the deck, just push the button, and it’s off the deck. This is very handy if you’re traveling, as it doesn’t take up too much space.
Globber Primo is our best value pick because it has some amazing features. This scooter grows with your child due to the adjustable handlebar, it features polyurethane wheels that ensure a smooth ride even on rough terrain, and the steel reinforced deck can hold up to 100 lbs of weight. Globber is a durable and reliable scooter, and any child would be happy to have it.
Parents overall were satisfied with this scooter, but there were a few complaints. The first one would be about the lean to turn steering. Some parents said that their kids had some difficulties with the steering, and it was hard for them to learn how to steer properly. The other most notable complaint was about the brake wearing out the rear wheel, after some time of use.
When it comes to scooters for toddlers, there is one that just must be included, and that’s Fisher Price Laugh & Learn Smart Stages Scooter!
This scooter is specially made for children between the ages of 12 months and 3-years old. However, some three-year-olds will find Fisher Price scooter too childish.
What sets apart Fisher Price from other scooters on our list is its Smart Stages technology. This technology offers three levels of play that prompt quick and easy learning. Level 1 or Explore is suited for kids at least 12 months old, and in this level, kids will hear fun songs, different sounds, and phrases while they scoot around. Level 2 or Encourage is meant for children over 18 months old. This level encourages kids to play and learn with phrases like ‘Go Faster’ and ‘Find the red triangle!’ Level 3 or Pretend, is suited for two-year-olds, and this level of play is great for encouraging your child’s imagination through phrases like ‘Pretend to wave to a friend’ and many other suggestions. There are over 50 learning songs, phrases, and tunes your child can enjoy. In addition to that, there are three buttons that will teach your kid about shapes, colors, numbers, and more.
The Fisher Price Kick Scooter is a perfect toy for one-year-olds, it is small but sturdy, and kids won’t be able to overturn it easily. At first, your child will use this scooter as a walker by pushing it around the house. The one thing that you don’t have to worry about is carpeting; the wheels are big enough not to sink in the carpet so your kid will be able to easily roll around the house. After a couple of months of pushing it around the house, your kid will eventually learn how to scoot and get on and off the scooter by himself.
By using this scooter, your little one will develop a sense of balance and coordination through fun and play. But most of all, they will build confidence with each step they make with Fisher Price Laugh & Learn Smart Stages Scooter.
There aren’t many downsides to this particular scooter; the one that drives the parents away from it is the lack of long-term use. Fisher Price is not a scooter that can grow with your child. The other problem we have with this scooter is maybe also an advantage; the handlebar doesn’t turn. Apart from that, Fisher Price is a perfect learning toy for young kids.
Getting a scooter for a toddler can be expensive, but it doesn’t have to be if you choose to get Swagtron K2. For a reasonable price, your child can have both a ride on toy and a scooter.
Swagtrong K2 has a pretty cool concept, one we haven’t seen in our list of best toddler scooters. The biggest difference is in the way K2 transforms from a trike to a scooter. All you have to do to go from one to another is to simply twist the handle until you hear a loud click, which indicates it’s locked in.
This is a great toy for kids between the ages of 2 and 5, but you have to have in mind that the weight limit is 44 pounds.
Your little one can start using K2 as a ride on as soon as he learns how to walk. You don’t have to worry about your kid’s balance skills because this is a three-wheeled ride on that stands on its own. Everything your toddler has to do is kick its feet and cruise around the house or backyard.
As he cruises on the trike, your child will learn how to handle the trike, build up some confidence, develop his sense of balance and coordination. This is a perfect combo that will prepare him for some new adventures on a scooter.
When your child is ready, just twist the handle, and he can get on a scooter. Due to its small size, the K2 has a deck that cannot accommodate both feet, but for a child’s first scooter, this will be enough.
Swagatron K2’s frame is made out of carbon steel, which is durable yet lightweight. This means that your child won’t have any difficulties moving it around, and at the same time, K2 will be able to weather rough play.
The handlebar features soft grips that won’t leave your kid’s hands in blisters. Also, the stem is adjustable so you can easily match it to your child’s height.
Considering price, usability, safety, and stability, Swagatron K2 Toddler Scooter & Ride On is a great buy! If you’re looking for a great birthday present, you won’t make a mistake if you decide to gift K2 to your child.
This little scooter comes in three colors – blue, pink, and yellow, so ask your little one to choose between these three colors, and bring them their new favorite toy.

There are many types of scooters both for kids and adults, but here we’ll only talk about the types for kids. We split the division into three main categories:
As the kids grow older, they develop new skills, and scooters aimed at toddlers cannot be good enough for kids over the age of seven or more. We mentioned above that scooters for kids under the age of five feature lightweight, three-wheel design with a wider base that increases balance and stability.
Scooters for kids from 5 to 10 years old feature a bulkier, two-wheel design. These scooters are skinnier as they have a slimmer base, and they are taller. Scooters designed for those older than 10 years old are also scooters that both teens and adult use.
As we mentioned, there are scooters with two or three wheels, but there are some three-wheel models that give the option to remove one wheel when your kid becomes confident to move onto the two-wheeled scooter.
Other than what we covered already about the design of the scooters, there is one more design model we didn’t mention, and that is the electric or gas-powered scooter.
These scooters are set in motion through an electric or gas-powered motor. Electric scooters are commonly used by adults, but there are some models made for kids as young as three or four years.
Before you pick a scooter for your toddler, you should know what to look for and how to make the best choice. Here are some basic features you have to keep in mind when you’re choosing a scooter for a toddler.
Most kick scooters, same as roller blades (inline skates) use polyurethane wheels which are great for shock absorption. When you’re buying a scooter for a toddler, get them the one with three wheels, preferably two big ones in the front, and one smaller in the rear. Two front wheels will offer better stability, because kids tend to shift their weight in the direction they’re heading. And bigger wheels are better for shock absorption and rough terrain.
T-style handlebars are the most common on a scooter, but there are a few models with O-handlebars made for very young kids. When you’re shopping for a toddler, you should get a scooter that features adjustable T-style handlebar with foam-covered grips. Foam-covered grips are great for shock absorption, and they make the ride safe and comfortable. You should also look for a limited steering radius, as with it your child won’t be able to make sudden turns. Some scooters come with fixed handlebars that don’t allow turning at all, so that your kid can focus only on the pushing technique.
The first thing you have to check when you’re buying a scooter for your toddler is the size of the scooter. This is important as it is not enough to only check the recommended age, because not all kids the same age have the same height. Getting an age appropriate, or height appropriate scooter is a must.
4. Base of the scooter:
When you’re buying a scooter for toddler, find the one that features a wider base. Wider base promotes better stability, and that’s very important for young kids. Usually scooters for toddlers are made of hard plastic or laminate product. Metal scooters are mostly reserved for a little bit older kids, and they feature thinner base that promotes maneuverability and speed.
There are a few brake systems on scooters, and the most popular one is the brake on the rear wheel. It also works as a fender – preventing rain and mud flying around. And the use of it is very simple, just step on it and you’re braking.
There are many types of scooters, and if you wonder whether your child is ready to try out one, the answer is – it may be ready, but that depends on your child. Some safety guidelines tell us that kids aged over 12 months are perfectly capable of riding a scooter. However, you should not always follow the age guidelines. Each child is different, and not everybody develops the same way.
When it comes to kids of that young age, it is extremely important to evaluate their personal skills when you’re making the decision whether they’re ready for a scooter, or any type of riding toy. Before getting a scooter for your kid, you have to be sure that your child is completely mobile and stable enough on his feet. A good coordination and their desire to be and act more independentare also very important. That’s because riding a scooter doesn’t require you helping them or holding their hand. Your child must be confident enough to try riding a scooter by themselves.
With all that said, there are many scooter models that are suitable for kids over the age of 12 months, but most of the scooters are made for kids over the age of 3 years.
Scooters for toddlers are a little bit different than those made for older kids. Scooters for toddlers are significantly smaller, and they usually feature the three-wheel design. The wheels are arranged so to offer better stability – there are two larger wheels in the front, and one smaller wheel in the rear. However, there are some scooters for the toddlers that feature one wheel in the front, and two wheels in the rear. Toddler scooters also feature a wider base that’s low to the ground, making it more stable and easier to balance. These scooters are sturdy but lightweight.
A scooter is not just a toy your child gets to play with. Getting a scooter for your little one will be very beneficial to your child. A scooter will help develop both mind and body. Here are some benefits:
Our kids are growing up in a world where everything comes down to technology. Because of the internet, learning, gaming, and playing with friends can be done from the comfort of your home. And nowadays, getting a child to be active is a little bit harder than before. In order for them to be more active, you have to find something that your kid is very passionate about, and getting them a scooter might be the right choice. Buying a scooter for your child means that your little one is going to get plenty of exercise almost every day.
For kids at a young age, it is extremely important to learn the basics of balance and coordination. Riding a scooter will immensely help the do so. They will learn how to balance on a scooter while they’re kicking with one foot, and stabilizing themselves with the other one. At first, they’ll be slow and steady, but they will improve with the regular practice. Through this practice, your kids will strengthen their leg muscles as well as core muscles.
Regular activity helps boost the brain’s cognitive function, meaning that regularly active children perform much better than children who are not physically active.
By mastering balance and coordination, your kid will also improve his motor skills. Motor skills are one of the most important skills kids need to develop early on.
Riding a scooter is a fun experience, and most kids enjoy the ride. By going out in the neighborhood with you child and a scooter, your kid will surely meet new friends and learn socialization skills. Developing social skills and building new friendships are very important for your kid’s mental health.
Learning to ride a scooter is very easy, and your kid will feel amazing when he gets the hang of it. The self-confidence from that moment will only grow, which is a great thing because it will work as a fuel for future projects or interests.
By getting on a toy with wheels, your kid can learn about the basic traffic rules, and about the safety in traffic.
During walks, young children get tired and bored very quickly. Getting a scooter is something that will keep the walks long, fun, and enjoyable for both you and your child.
Even though owning and riding a scooter is very beneficial to your kid, it can also be very dangerous if you don’t take some precautionary measures. Here are some safety tips for riding a scooter:
Safety equipment is the most important part for a safe ride, and the helmet is the most important part of the safety equipment. Wearing a helmet is a law in most states because head injuries can be very serious and they can put your life at risk. You don’t have to worry about your kid not wanting to wear the helmet as they are now beautifully designed, and they come in wide variety of shapes and colors. Also, getting a kid to wear a helmet will make them get used to wearing it in the future too when they progress from scooters to bikes, skates, and skateboards.
If your kid falls from a scooter, the first things that hit the ground are hands, elbows, and knees. This is the reason why you must buy pads that will protect the said parts. Getting knee, hand, and elbow pads is optional, but I would highly recommend it.
Proper footwear is imperative for safety. You should never allow your kid to ride a scooter wearing sandals, or barefoot. The best footwear for riding scooter would be closed shoes with a thick sole and good ankle support. This would protect your child’s feet from a number of things.
If you plan on buying a scooter for your child, buy the one that’s meant for his age. Getting a scooter that your kid ‘will grow into’ is not a smart idea.
There is a valid reason why it’s said: “There is safety in numbers.” A vehicle is more likely to spot a group of kids than a kid alone in the street. Also, it is much more fun for your child, to ride a scooter with other friends or siblings.
With safety equipment and these safety tips in mind, your child will be well equipped for a completely safe ride. And don’t forget the most important safety measure – your supervision!
Riding a scooter is an incredible experience for everyone, but kids especially. However, in order for that experience to be good, you have to pick the right scooter. You have to take into account the height and the weight of your child, as well as his age, and then look for a scooter that’s best suited for him or her.
There are many choices on the market, and we tried to pick the best ones for toddlers. I hope this list helped you with your decision.
Happy shopping! And don’t forget the safety equipment!
